The water carried us along the long, dark tunnel to a sandy little beach. Emma was cross.
We were both very wet. Then we saw the nut.
We ran to get it but a seagull picked it up and flew away. We ran after the seagull but it was too quick for us to catch.

A man saw what happened and he lent us a boat. We got in it and went after the seagull. “Drop that nut!” I shouted.
It did. “Oh no!” Hissed Emma. She tried to catch it but she missed. It fell in the water and sank to the bottom of the deep, blue sea.
“Oh dear!” I said, “Now we’ll have to go and get it!”

Luckily a man from the navy saw what happened and he lent us a submarine. Emma, however, was not very happy. She does not like the water. Now we had to go to the bottom of the deep, blue sea! She was really, really cross!
